I finally caught up with Notes from a Scandal in movie form after finishing the book quite a while ago. The book is superior, and it's worth quickly going back and looking at the intriguing 'narrator position' of the book, which is the key to figuring out why this is case of 'book over film'.

Rewriting yourself

How strange... I have just turned down a request for a production of a radio play I wrote in 1996. It was so old I didn't even have a copy on my computer so had to ask agent to scan and send it to me. So it turned up this morning and I read it in about 20 minutes... and there is no way I can allow a production of it.

Why did I turn it down: Was it a bad play? Was the director a psychopath?

The web is a wonderful place for finding stories. And while we like to think ourselves very inventive on finding stories more often and not we over hear and bit from here, mix it up with a bit from here and then create something 'new'.
